Sonny Allison is a seasoned Nigerian Entrepreneur who studied Business Administration at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in 1976.

His postgraduate experience of over 40 years has spanned a diverse range of fields resulting in an eclectic skill-set. He is the Founder/Executive Chairman of GMC Logistics- an intelligent and innovative company poised to become the industry leader. He is highly focused and entrepreneurial individual with a unique combination of skills, and experience. He has had long, wide ranging business and general management exposure resulting in a solid experience curve, which he brings to bear on his undertakings.

His track record includes major roles in two multi-national firms- Nigerian Tobacco Company Plc [now British American Tobacco Company (BAT)], where he served in various senior positions for ten years. He left BAT in 1987 as Product Development & Marketing Intelligence Manager to join DHL International where he played pivotal roles in the early penetration of the company into Africa in the 1980s and early 1990s in over 18 African countries, including Nigeria, as an Expatriate Country Commercial Manager.

In 1992 he founded Red Star Express Limited (a first class International Courier Company) and served as its pioneer Managing Director. The Company has remained the fastest growing courier company in Nigeria and a Licensee of the Global Express giant- FedEx. Red Star Express Plc has been a quoted company on the Nigerian Stock Exchange since 2007. Mr. Allison sits on the boards of several other companies operating in Nigeria. He is a fellow of the African Centre for Supply Chain.
